Senior Java Backend Developer – Event-Driven Integrations

What you will do

As senior Java developer, you will build and maintains the company’s webshop software. Your focus is on building and modernising integrations between internal and external systems and helping set company standards and best practices for integrations. 

You play a key role in rebuilding existing legacy integrations to Event-Driven architecture, ensuring scalability and maintainability. Your work shows a level of high code quality.

You will:

• architect, build and maintain integration solutions using Java, Spring and microservices;
• design and implement event-driven architectures leveraging a Central Message Bus (CMB);
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between systems;
• define and enforce best practices and standards for integration development;
• support the migration of existing legacy integrations towards a new event-driven architecture, ensuring scalability and maintainability;
• contribute to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) initiatives and ensure alignment with business domains;
• coach peers, lead by example, and foster a culture of clean, testable and maintainable code.

You have:

• advanced knowledge of Java, Spring and microservices;
• strong experience with integration design and event-driven architecture;
• familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and best practices (SOLID);
• experience with REST and messaging systems (e.g. AWS EventBridge and SQS);
• knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
